The Lactation Network

We are so proud to be part of The Lactation Network. This organization helps moms and moms to be get the breastfeeding care they need, at zero additional cost.

The Lactation Network guarantees each mother and baby at least six (but usually an unlimited number) of 60 minute consultations in home or in office with an IBCLC at ZERO OUT OF POCKET cost! They will handle all of the paperwork and bill your insurance directly. This also applies to prenatal breastfeeding education. TLN is essentially a "middle man" company that pays a flat fee to your lactation consultant (LC) and then bills your insurance.

The most common insurances covered are Anthem PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, VA CCN, and United Health Care.

You are fully covered for all visit costs billable to insurance. There are some charges not billable to insurance (meaning, you are responsible to cover those out of pocket), as outlined below:

  • Home visit travel fee ($25-$50)

  • Products purchased within our office

  • Products we recommend that you purchase outside of our office

  • Cancellation/no show fees

Please visit this website to see if your care with us is covered by your insurance: https://go.lactationnetwork.com/BloomingBabiesLactationCo

This form is no obligation and completely a free check.

You must notify us and TLN of any insurance changes immediately. You will be responsible for the full visit cost (listed on website) if you don't have active insurance coverage at the time of your appointment.

As long as you retain the active insurance coverage that TLN approved you with, we will not invoice you for or expect you to pay any "patient responsibility" or "patient owes" amounts listed on any Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents you receive from your insurance company. An EOB is just the indication from your insurance carrier that a claim was submitted on your behalf, and explanation of what they paid. Any invoice for services rendered would come directly from the service provider, not the insurance company.

As an independent contractor for TLN, we simply provide the lactation service and are not involved in TLN's insurance billing process. Please reach out directly to TLN for any insurance billing questions: email Care@tln.care

Tricare

We are in network with Tricare, and they typically allow for six visits for each lactating parent.

We will handle all of the billing of your Tricare plan.

Superbills

We are able to provide you with a printed statement including procedural and diagnosis codes for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, at their discretion.

This superbill will outline what you spent at our office and what procedures were performed. Think of this as out of network billing.

This also applies if you will be receiving chiropractic care with your lactation consults. We still do not accept insurance for chiropractic care.
